CCI’s new High Efficiency Cell Extender System is the most efficient MCPA system available.  With a combined system efficiency of 40%, OPEX is reduced significantly in comparison to traditional Feed?ForwardMCPAs.  This system employs a new Digital Pre?Distortion amplifier design with high power density for a very compact unit.  The MCPA system is optimized for UMTS and HSPA, allowing multiple channels to be combined on high capacity sites to reduce the required number of feeders while improving coverage.  The Cell Extender is a key element in upgrading or cositing existing (growth) or new base stations.  CCI’s unique system architecture provides an inherent bypass feature by insuring that the output of the BTS is always connected to the antenna system.  In addition, the BTS output is coherently combined with the Cell Extender output such that none of the BTS power is wasted, thus improving system efficiency.
